Finding Balance in Your Spiritual Journey
Most of you are on this site because you are looking for something to spur on your spiritual journey. And we desire to assist you with this process in any way we can, but you must realize that this journey must begin in and be nurtured by your own heart. Nothing/No one outside yourself can make this journey for you. But we can give you some advice based on our own experiences. And just perhaps, you can find something here that will resonate with you and help to embolden you as you begin your journey.
In our humble opinion, a journey of personal growth has four aspects or components: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Each of these aspects needs to be attended to in turn. You cannot fully grow in one area without acknowledging and growing in each of the other three areas. In other words, you need to find balance. Some of you may remember Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs from your study in psychology. It is difficult (if not impossible) to master self-actualization without first attending to your physiological needs (food, water, sleep, warmth). We felt that it was important to address these components in the beginning so that you might grow as a whole person, aware of how each aspect affects the other. (Remember: You are here on Earth by your own design to fully experience this world. If you only focus on the spiritual, you may fail to understand why you are here and what you have chosen to learn in this life.
